Diva Magazine

Abstract

Diva is a UK magazine for the LBTQ+ community, founded in 1994. The magazine aims to celebrate queer women and has been shown to offer its readers a sense of community that mainstream women's magazines have not historically extended to non‐heterosexual readers. Inclusion and exclusion in Diva have still attracted research attention, however, with bisexual women and, more recently, trans readers being problematized by a minority of readers. The elasticity of gender and sexual identities presents challenges for the magazine in the coming years.
