Abstract:Recurrent neural networks (RNNs) are well-suited for sequential tasks such as speech enhancement (SE). However, their performance comes with high-computational complexity and latency. This impedes their deployment to battery-powered and resource-constrained hearing instruments (HIs) that need to operate for 16-18 h daily at only a few milliwatts (mW). In this article, we introduce PeakEngine, a configurable ASIC accelerator that decreases the amount of computation and memory accesses, and thus latency, in a ga… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
