Abstract: 5-Methylcytosine (5mC) and 5-hydroxymethylcytosine (5hmC) are two of the most abundant epigenetic marks in mammalian genomes, and it has been proven that these dual epigenetic marks give a more accurate prediction of recurrence and survival in cancer than the individual mark.
