Identification of regulatory elements in 16S rRNA gene of Acinetobacter species isolated from water sample

Abstract: A bacterial strain, designated AcBz01, was isolated from a water sample collected from Gomti River, Lucknow, India, and identified using a molecular approach. On the basis of the bacterial 16S rRNA gene sequence phylogeny and comparison of this gene sequence with sequences in Ribosomal Database project II, evidence given in this study, it is proposed that isolate is closely related to members of the genus Acinetobacter. Identification and annotation of regulatory elements in the 16S rRNA gene and characterizat… Show more

“…This technique may provide information in terms of the community structure, diversity, evolution and taxonomy of microbial flora in the tin mining area. The sequencing information may also explain the discrepancy between phenotypic identification and the antibiotic susceptibility of the various isolates (Srivastava et al, 2008). These novel isolates will allow the exploration of new antibacterial agent and industrial enzyme with enhance prowess.…”

“…In this study, the method of isolation and identification of an unknown fungus from CSA Farm, Kanpur district using 18S rRNA gene sequence as reported in bacterial rRNA gene (Srivastava et al, 2008) was used to characterize the strains T k -5201/CSAU and T vi -4177/CSAU as members of the Trichoderma spp. The soil sample has received great attention from public due to its potential for biodiversity and biological conservation.…”
