This paper proposed an enhanced data handling technique by introducing multiple layers of security in securing sensitive text data, which is realized by using both cryptography and steganography techniques. The proposed method is cost-effective as the data compression technique is observed. This study uses Polybius cipher to transform plaintext containing vital information into an unintelligible format called ciphertext. The ciphertext is compressed using the Huffman coding algorithm, where output is embedded in an image file using the Least Significant Bit (LSB) algorithm for the steganography technique. Simulation results show that the proposed methodology produced stego images with better performance as to file size, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), Structural Similarity Index (SSIM), and error metrics as against the stego image generated using the lone LSB steganography technique.

In this paper, a new method of image steganography under the spatial domain is introduced and added to the body of learning. This study used a compression technique in securing text data using the Goldbach code algorithm. Image steganography is also performed with the use of the Least Significant Bit (LSB) technique. To execute, the message is first compressed using the Goldbach code, and the compressed data is embedded inside an image using the LSB. Simulation results revealed that the combination of the two methods had paved the way to more secure storage and data transmission, as evident in file size, Peak Signal to Noise Ratio (PSNR), and MSE parameters used.

Data security is one of the most important aspects of today's information era. Some methods are used to secure important data from hackers. The LSB is a steganographic algorithm that is often used to store data in the last bit. In order to improve the security, we combine steganography with cryptography enables. In this research LSB is modified using the multi-bit LSB model. Modifications are made to the bits of each character, the rotation by a certain amount can randomize the plaintext content before cryptographic algorithm, Vernam is performed. The bit on LSB can be inserted data as much as 1, 2, 3 or 4 - bit information. The calculation results of MSE and PSNR values indicate that the use of 1-bit LSB is superior to that of 2-, 3-, or 4-bit LSB.
