Abstract:While radioguided surgery traditionally relied on detecting gamma rays, direct detection of beta particles could facilitate the detection of tumour margins intraoperatively by reducing radiation noise emanating from distant organs, thereby improving the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of the imaging technique. In addition, most existing beta detectors do not offer surface sensing or imaging capabilities.

Therefore, in this article, we explore the concept of a stretchable scintillator to detect bet… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
