Abstract:Carcinogenesis is an evolutionary process fueled by the interplay of somatic mutations and the local microenvironment. In recent years, hundreds of cancer related genes have been discovered using cancer cohorts. However, these cohorts are heterogenous mixtures of different molecular phenotypes, which hampers the identification of driver genes associated to a specific cancer hallmark or microenvironment. Here, we compared the landscape of positively selected somatic mutations in immune-escaped (escape+) versus … Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
