Abstract:Accumulating evidence shows that both normal and cancer stem cells exhibit immune privileges. This review focuses on stem cell immune privileges as a function of non-pathological stem cells related to autoimmunity control and regeneration. Based on the diversity in the regulation of stem cells, their microenvironment and the immune system, I propose the use of the term "stem system".
