Immunotherapy in esophageal cancer – An update

Abstract: Esophageal cancer continues to remain a global problem. The majority of patients with advanced and/or metastatic disease will have limited survival, which has essentially remained unchanged over the past 20 years. The dawn of the immunotherapy resurgence has brought hope in the lives of many patients with lung cancer and other solid tumors. The emerging data for esophageal cancer also indicates benefit in selected patients. We summarize the current data available in this review.
