Impact of practice effect on each difficulty of cutting skill

Abstract: In this paper, we aim to measure the cutting skill for creative paper cutting and increase practice effect. The practice effect changes according to the difficulty level of the cutting pattern and the skill level of the user. The cutting pattern of the picture consists of a straight line and a curved line, and we generalized the index of difficulty (ID) based on Steering law. One of cutting skills that shows the difference between novices and experts is time to cut. Besides, we developed a system consisting of… Show more

“…During future research, we will measure the skill level of users and accordingly provide practical practice support covering various elements of cutting skills. Moreover, we are currently analyzing measuring the cutting skill level and difficulty level of cutting pattern [11]. This study aims to adjust the level of difficulty of the task in order to improve the skill level of the user.…”

“…Studies [1,25] present an image-guided pen-based suggestive interface for sketching 3D wireframe models. Studies [12,14] support 2D/3D drawing practice and promote correction and improvement by comparing the user's imitation of a picture with the original.…”

“…Thus far, we have developed a system to support the improvement of cutting pressure control [1]. Moreover, we have evaluated the effectiveness of practice when a learner repeatedly practices straight patterns of various difficulty levels [2]. In this paper, we focus on improving the model-fitting skill of papercutting.…”

“…Our current research supported improving the cutting skill of novices from this paper. Moreover, we are studying how to measure the cutting skill levels and difficulty levels associated with cutting patterns [28]. The aim of [28] is to adjust the difficulty level of the optimal task to promote user skill level improvement.…”

“…Moreover, we are studying how to measure the cutting skill levels and difficulty levels associated with cutting patterns [28]. The aim of [28] is to adjust the difficulty level of the optimal task to promote user skill level improvement. By combining these studies, we bring great fulfillment and happiness by matching their skills and tasks for novices and making users in a flow state.…”
