Abstract:Introduction: Highly active antiretroviral therapy (HAART) transformed HIV from a fatal disease to a chronic one, but it has adverse effects, such as the lipodystrophy syndrome, characterized by morphological and metabolic changes, such as reduced bone mineral density (BMD), potentiating morbidities and mortality.
