“…In both the angle and condylar fracture groups, the etiology of traffic accidents ranked third. Antic et al 32 (Serbia) and Iida et al 33,34 (Germany and Japan) found similar results. These results differ from those reported by Chrcanovic et al 35 (Brazil), Gaddipati et al 36 (India), Mehra et al 37 (India), Patil 38 (India), Samieirad et al 25 (Iran), and Tiwari et al 39 (India), who found that traffic accidents are the main etiologic factor (sometimes up to 89%), followed by violent events or falls.…”

“…According to Izuka et al, the percentage ratio comparing the height of the lower third molar to the remaining height of the mandibular bone measured on the orthopantomogram ranges between 44-84% (12). Some authors reported on this ratio exceeding 50% to be associated with a higher risk of mandible fracture (6,21,22). The work of Joshi et al relates 54% of iatrogenic mandibular fractures to the removal of lower third molars fully impacted in bone (6).…”

“…A condylustörés-csoport leggyakoribb etiológiai tényezője az esés volt, amit a testi erőszak követett. Egyes, Szerbiában, Németországban, illetve Japánban végzett vizsgálatok hasonló eredményt találtak [18,19,40]. Eredményeink azonban eltértek számos, más országban (Brazília, India, Irán) végzett vizsgálatok eredményeitől, melyek a közlekedési baleset dominanciájáról számoltak be [20,33,41,42].…”

“…Vizsgálatunkban a bölcsességfoghiány szignifikánsan összefüggött a condylustörésekkel (4. ábra). Ez megegyezik számos korábbi kutatás eredményével [12,17,20,40,43]. Az idegsérülés szempontjából magas rizikójú bölcsességfog-eltávolítás alternatívája lehet a coronectomia elvégzése [50].…”
