Impact of ZnS/Mn on the Structure, Optical, and Electric Properties of PVC Polymer

Abstract: The most efficient way to create novel materials that may be used in a variety of optoelectronic applications is thought to be doped mixed polymers with appropriate fillers. Undoped and doped PVC polymers with ZnS/Mn formed at different temperatures were fabricated using the casting method. The Rietveld method was used to discover the structure and microstructure of Zn0.95Mn0.05S prepared at T = 300, 400, and 500 °C. The distribution and existence of the nanofiller over the PVC matrix were determined via XRD, … Show more

“…Polymeric composites have received great attention because of their effective role in various applications, including the industrial, biological, medical, shielding and entertainment fields [ 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 , 5 ]. Polyvinyl alcohol (PVA), polyvinyl pyrrolidone (PVP), chitosan (CS), carboxymethyl cellulose (CMC) and polyethylene glycol (PEG) possess many attractive features over the rest of polymers, such as non-toxicity, water-solubility, bio-compatibility, eco-friendly and degradability [ 6 , 7 , 8 ].…”

“…El-Naggar et al obtained E a ~0.174 eV for PVC. [56] It is worth noting that E a decreased up to ~0.106 eV for PVC/NC blends while it increased by ~0.138 eV in addition the to MoS 2 . Again, with addition of Nafion, E a was decreased up to ~0.077 eV.…”

“…This variation in conductivity can be attributed to the dispersion of the nanofiller within the polymer matrix and the interaction between the polymer and filler. [56] the Arrhenius equation states that the conductivity of a material increases exponentially with increasing temperature. This is because the higher the temperature, the more likely it is that molecules will have enough energy to overcome the activation energy barrier and participate in conductive events.…”
