Abstract:Accordingly, we induced streptozotocin diabetes in rats and evaluated the effects of ligating the coronary artery to produce myocardial infarct by analyzing hemodynamics and the expression of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) messenger (m) RNA. Eightweek diabetic rats and age-matched nondiabetic rats underwent ligation of the coronary artery for 1 week. Left ventricular enddiastolic pressure (LVEDP) was not statistically different between diabetic rats (15 ± 6 mmHg) and nondiabetic rats (13 ± 9 mmHg)
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
