Abstract

estudo de caso com realização de 35 entrevistas, envolvendo 5 médicos e 30 enfermeiros. Os dois grupos de profissionais entrevistados concordam quanto a contribuição do protocolo para a acelerar da identificação precoce dos sinais e dos sintomas, empoderando a equipe a agir em situações que podem se tornar críticas, no entanto, foi identificada a necessidade de o protocolo ser mais bem divulgado entre os membros da equipe multidisciplinar, especialmente entre os médicos residentes. Os relatos indicam também que os profissionais, quando mobilizados e valorizados, se tornam mais conscientes e responsáveis no ato de cuidar e aprender, capazes de transformar a realidade, mudando a si próprios no processo de ensino-aprendizagem. Conclui-se que a redução da incidência da sepse nas instituições hospitalares demanda avaliação clínica e assistência sistematizada, associada à implantação de um projeto estrutural, envolvendo equipes multidisciplinares capacitadas.
