“…Segundo a Comissão Nacional de Investigação Científica e Tecnologia do Chile, no ano de 2012, a produção aquícola do país alcançou um volume de 6,07 milhões de toneladas entre produção industrial e artesanal, sendo o produto com maior importância econômica na balança comercial chilena (Almeida, 2014).
