Purpose of the study: This article aims to present the role played by electronic communication tools from the economic and investor perspective. The paper focuses on three axes: ICT for a transmission of information on interest rates, ICT as a source of information for investors and ICT for improving market efficiency. Methodology: The article is exploratory in nature, which means that in order to investigate the individual pillars of this work, an analysis of the corresponding literature sources has been made. An extensive review of scientific articles, scientific books, and working papers corresponding to individual axes was made. Main Findings: ICT tools show an advantage over other (more traditional) communication channels, which is reflected in more dynamic and immediate market reactions. High use of these tools is observed both among enterprises and central agencies. The effective transmission of information about interest rates minimizes the risk of making wrong investment decisions. However, it is important to bear in mind the challenges of, inter alia, still low level of digital literacy among the society. Applications of the study: This work may be an incentive for entrepreneurs to digitize their companies more widely, but also for investors to use ICT to make investment decisions more accurately. Novelty/Originality of the study: The paper presents a broad literature overview on using ICT tools in economic applications, including investment. The starting point is also behavioral decision-making theories along with classical heuristics.

<p>Taking into consideration the rise of Industry 5.0 (I5.0), more and more solutions are being developed, aiming towards increased environmental consciousness through advanced technologies, and human centricity. Digital Product Passports (DPPs) constitute a novel technological solution that can enable the transition toward a digital Circular Economy (CE) and sustainable I5.0, as digital identities that are assigned to physical products, capable of tracing their lifecycles through data such as their technical specifications, usage instructions, and repair and maintenance information. Although the respective research community has started providing a thorough analysis of DPPs potential to constitute a CE enabler, their technical requirements are still unclear. As part of our contribution to this issue, we propose a fundamental CE framework with integrated DPP characteristics, capable of being adapted in different sector stages for the generation and distribution of DPPs both for stakeholders and consumers. The corresponding solution is further supported through a systematic literature review that follows a technological approach to the DPPs implementation.</p>

Purpose of the study: The paper aims to create a proposal to extend the functionality of the currently operating COVID‑19 case reporting system in Poland. Methodology: Empirical analysis of the current COVID-19 reporting system in Poland with three axes: (1) description of the system functionalities according to official (governmental) sources; (2) listing and characterization of the current system defects causing ineffectiveness of reporting; (3) proposition of systemic alterations to reduce the level of reporting inefficiency preparation and for possible future phenomena related to the pandemic evolution. Main Findings: The reporting system is ineffective as the systems of local medical laboratories performing coronavirus tests are not fully integrated with the central system. Data transfer to the central repository is not executed automatically but relies on manual input by a laboratory technician. Thus, the data in the system are published with a certain delay. Applications of this study: Improving the infection reporting system may prove useful for both legislators and local health regulatory authorities. This may translate into an improved case prediction model and thus greater objectivity in the case of the introduction of new restrictions. Novelty/Originality of this study: The dynamic course of the coronavirus pandemic made it necessary to monitor the number of cases, deaths and, above all, to find outbreaks. The IT systems reporting SARS-CoV-2 cases were developed in a quick manner and solutions were advanced on an ongoing basis. Due to numerous modifications, these systems lack operational efficiency. This study discusses how the current Polish COVID-19 case reporting system works and presents proposals for its refinements which may contribute to ameliorations in many other national systems.
