Abstract:The oxidation and hot corrosion behaviors of the NiCrAlY, NiAlY, and Ni-xTa-Al-Y alloys (x = 1, 3, 5, and 10 wt%) were investigated at 750°C. The doped Ta promoted the formation of the protective α-Al 2 O 3 scales. The NiTaAlY alloys exhibited an improved oxidation resistance compared with the NiAlY alloy. Under the NaCl-induced hot corrosion test, the addition of Ta reduced the consumption of Al and inhibited the internal corrosion of the alloys. The Ni-xTa-Al-Y alloys (x = 1, 3, 5, and 10 wt%) showed better … Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
