“…PLA has captured remarkable attention owing to its biodegradability, flexibility, and thermoplasticity, all vital for the fabrication of functional PLA-based patches. [77] Furthermore, studies reveal that PLA membranes can efficiently lower the adhesion between the caecum and the AW. [48,78] For instance, the use of PLA films (Surgi Wrap) reduced the incidence of severe adhesion in mice from 71.4% to 10.5%.…”

“…Another type of polymeric nanoparticle, mPEG-poly(lactic-co-glycolic acid)-poly-L-lysine (mPEG-PLGA-PLL), can be loaded with doxorubicin and conjugated with cyclic RGD, a cell penetrating peptide that is also selective to tumor cells. mPEG-PLGA-PLL-cRGD nanoparticles have achieved selective targeting of tumor cells and improved survival of tumor-bearing mice 223 . Wang et al synthesized thermally responsive nanoparticles that triggered irinotecan (CPT) when subjected to cold temperatures 224 .…”

“…The clinical benefits of a combination of tumor cryoablation with natural killer cells therapy and Herceptin were studied from Liang et al In 48 patients with HER2- overexpressing recurrent breast cancer, the three-therapy combination treatment resulted in reduced levels of circulating tumor cells, reduced tumor markers such as CEA and CA15-3, and significant prolongation of progression free survival 48. The synergetic effect of cryoablation and doxorubicin nanoparticles was assessed as effective in MCF-7 model, a widely studied epithelial cancer cell line derived from breast adenocarcinoma 49…”
