Improved visible light photocatalytic activity of mesoporous FeVO4 nanorods synthesized using a reactable ionic liquid

Abstract: Mesoporous FeVO4 nanorods were successfully synthesized by calcining the precursor Fe-VO4•1.1H2O nanorods, which were obtained via a simple hydrothermal method in the presence of a reactable metal-ion-containing ionic liquid, 1-octyl-3-methylimidazolium tetrachloride ferrate(III) ([Omim]FeCl4). The structure and morphology of the prepared samples were examined using various characterization techniques. During the synthetic process, [Omim]FeCl4 acted as the solvent, reactant, and capping agent simultaneously. M… Show more

“…Obviously, the FeV 3 O 8 /H 2 O 2 system is superior to the commercial P25 (35%). In a word, the FeV 3 O 8 catalyst exhibits higher excellent catalytic efficiency than those of reported iron–vanadium oxides such as FeVO 4 nanosheets and other similar iron-based materials , (Table ).…”

“…All diffractions peaks showed a spectrum of pure FeVO 4 anorthic-phase, the cell had lattice-parameters a = 6.7190 Å, b = 8.0600 Å, and c = 9.2540 Å, which accord good match with JCPD (card No. 71-1592) [17,22]. The anorthic phase, commonly known as the triclinic phase, is the crystal system with the least symmetry.…”

“…The peak intensity rises, revealing the Pt/FeVO 4 composite's high crystallinity and surface area [22,23]. X-ray photon-spectroscopy (XPS) a exible surface-analysis approach was used to further study the chemical analysis, composition as well as binding locations.…”

“…[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] As one of the available AOPs, heterogeneous photo-Fenton reactions have attracted more and more attention as they not only can overcome the drawbacks of traditional homogeneous Fenton reactions (narrow solution pH value range and large amounts of iron sludge production) but can also accelerate the Fe 3+ /Fe 2+ cycle and exert a synergistic effect of photocatalysis and the Fenton reaction to improve the degradation efficiency. [11][12][13][14][15][16] Consequently, developing the highly efficient heterogeneous photo-Fenton catalysts with low cost and good stability is essential and urgently needed.…”
