Abstract

The introduction of microgrids is significantly changing the current energy landscape. These microgrids can operate independently or in coordination with the main grid; they are able to integrate a variety of distributed generation (DG) resources, including renewable energy sources such as solar photovoltaics and wind turbines. Although these sources have significant positive environmental and economic impacts, they can cause quite complex power quality problems. These questions revolve around the issue of voltage regulation - an important aspect of maintaining consistent voltage levels within a microgrid, even after fluctuations caused by load or production changes in the DG, including unpredictability due to complexity: not All local systems change correctly.
