Sustainability is one of the main challenges of the recent decades. In this regard, several prior studies have used different techniques and approaches for solving this problem in the field of sustainability engineering. Multiple criteria decision making (MCDM) is an important technique that presents a systematic approach for helping decisionmakers in this field. The main goal of this paper is to review the literature concerning the application of MCDM methods in the field of sustainable engineering. The Web of Science (WoS) Core Collection Database was chosen to identify 108 papers in the period of 2008–2018. The selected papers were classified into five categories, including construction and infrastructure, supply chains, transport and logistics, energy, and other. In addition, the articles were classified based on author, year, application area, study objective and problem, applied methods, number of published papers, and name of the journal. The results of this paper show that sustainable engineering is an area that is quite suitable for the use of MCDM. It can be concluded that most of the methods used in sustainable engineering are based on traditional approaches with a noticeable trend towards applying the theory of uncertainty, such as fuzzy, grey, rough, and neutrosophic theory.

Logistics has become an important field as the volume of world commerce expands. The World Bank (WB) has been publishing the Logistics Performance Index (LPI) for most of the countries since 2007. LPI is accepted as an important indicator of logistical performance. In this study, a model is proposed to evaluate the LPI of the OECD countries within a specific time frame. With the proposed model, the logistical performance of OECD countries between the years 2010-2018 is analyzed and compared with the existing LPI rankings. The index is calculated using six indicators. Different from the WB survey, the fuzzy analytical hierarchy method is used to determine the weighting scores of these six indicators. The grey numbers give the researcher an opportunity to obtain the numerical expressions of a time period by showing minimum and maximum values. Thus, grey additive ratio assessment (ARAS-G) method is used to evaluate the logistics performances of OECD countries by years. The data created in this study refers to the logistics performances of the OECD countries between the years 2010 and 2018. Thus, OECD countries are ranked according to the logistics performances calculated by the ARAS-G method. The rankings calculated by ARAS-G are compared to the yearly rankings calculated by the WB. Spearman ρ and Kendall's Tau correlation methods are used to investigate the relationships within the yearly rankings and the rankings calculated for the period between 2010 and 2018 by using ARAS-G. The results show that the rankings calculated by ARAS-G have the strongest relationship with years. Indeed, this study provides a different field of study for the ARAS-G method application.

To cooperate or not is one of the most challenging issues of supply chain management era. If the supply chain is managed optimally, the entire profitability increases. Meanwhile, corporate Social Responsibility (hereafter CSR) is defined as the social and ethical behavior of supply chain members against stakeholders such as shareholders, final customers, employees and executives. Moreover, the observance of the social responsibility obligations is of great importance for consumers and shareholders of companies. The decisions of the supply chain’s members play a direct role in determining the profits of each. These decisions are in conflict with other members in a competitive environment. In this paper, the contradictory variables encompasses the cost resulting from the performance of corporate social responsibility, inventory, shortage, advertising and pricing in a two-level supply chain, consisting a manufacturer and a retailer. After identifying the quantitative variables for measuring the social responsibility using Delphi-Fuzzy methods and Interpretive Structural Modeling, the most important and influential variable of measuring the social responsibility performance (forced labor ratio) has been selected. Subsequently, after modeling the profit function of each player, optimal results were emanated according to the bargaining power of each member and based on Nash and Stackelberg games. Afterwards, with numerical examples, the optimization and sensitivity analysis of social responsibility in each model has been discussed. The results indicate that the profit of manufacturer and retailer reduces by increasing the proportion of forced labor. Based upon Nash equilibrium, the manufacturer’s profit decreases with a slight slope; nonetheless, on retailer and manufacturer leadership models, the profit decreases with a slight increase of the forced labor.
