Improving the Analytical Performances of Inductively Coupled Plasma Optical Emission Spectrometry by Multivariate Analysis Techniques

Abstract: The various multivariate analysis techniques which have been successfully applied to maximize the analytical performance of ICP-OES are reviewed. These include optimization procedures, spectral data processing and calibration methods as well as classification and pattern recognition techniques.

“…This activity is sensitive to heat, proteases, sodium dodecyl sulfate (SDS), and guanidine hydrochloride, arguing that it is due to the presence of an enzyme. We confirmed that the product of tellurite reduction by the S. epidermidis CH extract is tellurium by using Induced Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission (ICP-OE) spectroscopy [30]. We compared the spectrum of the product produced by the extract with the spectra of metallic tellurium and potassium tellurite reduced chemically with 2-mercaptoethanol, as standards.…”

“…Absorption spectra of products formed upon the reduction of K 2 TeO 3 in vitro by (A) 2-mercaptoethanol, (B) a crude extract prepared from S. epidermidis CH cells prior to chromatographic enrichment, and (C) purified bovine liver catalase, were resolved by Induced Coupled Plasma-Optical Emission spectroscopy [30].…”

“…These approaches have been used successfully in chemical analysis and research efforts have continuously been made to improve the accuracy and reliability of the output. [4][5][6] Chemical analysis using array sensing approach mainly includes electrochemical [7][8][9], mass [10,10] and optical sensors [12][13][14][15][16][17][18]. In the electrochemical sensing category a large proportion of the work has been in the area of gas sensing that is based on conductometric techniques.…”

“…For each digestion step, a blank was prepared with the same amount of acids. [17][18][19][20] The digestion programme for microwave system was: 3 min at 250 W, 2 min at 0 W, 5 min at 250 W, 5 min at 500 W, 2 min at 0 W and 5 min at 500 W. After digestion, samples were diluted to 50 mL with high purity water. The resulting solutions were analyzed by ICP-AES technique for Cd, Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Pb, V and Zn determination.…”
