Improving the Performance of Variable Data Rate Architectures for Optical LEO Direct-to-Earth Links

Abstract: Usage of new spreading factors is shown to improve the rate granularity, performance and photon efficiency of variable data rate architectures intended for optical low earth orbits to earth links.
