“…It is possible that different combinations would yield different risk estimations and that maybe a specific constellation of adverse childhood experiences exists, similar to the MacDonald's triad of enuresis, arson, and cruelty to animals . There are also additional predictors of sexual homicide that were not included in the adjusted models. Moreover, considering the heterogeneity of sexual murderers , it would be important in the future to investigate the impact of the adverse childhood experiences on the different types of sexual homicide offenders.…”

“…Impulsivity can be defined as a predisposition toward acting without thinking of the possible consequences (Wilhite & Fromme, 2017). Research has shown that individuals who exhibit a higher degree of impulsivity are at a greater risk of perpetrating and recidivating in sexual offenses (Davis, Danube, Stappenbeck, Norris, & George, 2015; Fox, 2017; Healey & Beauregard, 2017; Lussier, Beauregard, Proulx, & Nicole, 2005; Prentky, Knight, Lee, & Cerce, 1995; Wilhite & Fromme, 2017). While low self-control has been positively associated with frequency of offending (McGloin et al, 2007; Sullivan et al, 2006), it has yet to be tested in direct relation to criminal versatility.…”
