In‐Situ Composites Based on Thermoplastic and Thermotropic Liquid Crystalline Polymers

Abstract: S U M W YThermotropic liquid crystalline polymers (TLCPs) can be used to reinforce thermoplastic polymers in so-called in-situ composites. A brief introduction on contemporary TLCPs is given, followed by the basic ideas and principles behind in-situ composites. The state-of-the-art of in-situ composites is presented in terms of morphology and mechanical properties .
