Abstract: Eclampsia, new‐onset seizures in pregnancy, can complicate preeclampsia, a hypertensive pregnancy disorder. The mechanisms contributing to increased risk of seizures in preeclampsia are not fully known. One mechanism could be abnormal endocannabinoid system (ECS) activity and impaired neuromodulation.
