“…9 Be beam at 48 MeV was delivered by the 15 UD palletron accelerator of the Inter-University Accelerator Centre (IUAC), New Delhi [18,19]. The Indian National Gamma Array (INGA) [20], equipped with 14 Comptonsuppressed clover detectors, was used to collect the depopulating γ-rays. A 8.4 mg/cm 2 thick 122 Sn foil was used as target.…”

“…We performed two experiments with (i) 7 Li (E beam = 50 MeV) on 124 Sn target, and (ii) 11 B (E beam = 70 MeV) on 124 Sn target, using the 14 MV Pelletron accelerators at the Inter University accelerator center (New Delhi, India) and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (Mumbai, India), respectively. The INGA set-ups [10,11] consisting of 15-18 Compton suppressed HPGe clover detectors, were utilized for the detection of γ-rays. The details of the two experimental set-ups are very similar.…”

“…Thus a physically segmented detector can give you a smaller Doppler broadening than an unsegmented detector of the same volume. INGA, a clover detector array, and cluster detectors [35,36,80] are examples of this strategy.…”

“…The Indian National Gamma Array (pictured in Fig. 3.12) is an array of 24 escape suppressed HPGe clover detectors [80]. Since INGA utilizes clover detectors, it is sensitive to the polarization of gamma rays emitted from nuclei in aligned states [35].…”
