Índios Xukuru: a história a partir das memórias

Abstract

Resumo. Nos relatos orais dos índios Xukuru do Ororubá (Pesqueira e Poção/PE), percebem-se acontecimentos que expressam o cotidiano, os espaços e momentos de sociabilidades vivenciados na Serra do Ororubá, o significado de Cimbres como um espaço de referência da memória mítico-religiosa para a afirmação da identidade do grupo. Os fragmentos colhidos são relatos individuais, memórias autobiográficas, mas fazem parte de uma história coletiva, em que os entrevistados, apoiados na memória e na história que compartilham sobre o passado, afirmam seus direitos enquanto um povo indígena, a partir do vivido, do concebido e do expressado.Palavras-chave: história indígena, memórias Xukuru, Nordeste do Brasil.Abstract. Th e oral stories of the Xukuru Indians of Ororubá (Pesqueira and Poção/ PE) contain everyday events that represent the spaces and moments of sociability they experienced in the Ororubá mountains, as well as the meaning of Cimbres as a reference of mythical-religious memory for the affi rmation of their group identity. Th e fragments collected are both individual autobiographical memories and part of a collective history, where the interviewees, supported by the memory and the shared story about the past, assert their rights as an indigenous people based on what they have experienced, thought and expressed.
