Induction of a Consumption Pattern for Ethanol and Gasoline in Brazil

Abstract: Historically, carbon dioxide emissions from transport have been a globally discussed and analyzed problem. The adoption of flex fuel vehicles designed to run ethanol–gasoline blends is important to mitigate these emissions. The main purpose of this paper is to analyze the impact of the ethanol–gasoline price ratio on different vehicle models, and discuss the opportunities to increase ethanol consumption from this perspective. Our analysis shows that the use of a unique fuel economy ratio for all flex–fuel vehi… Show more

“…The previous empirical literature has focused on studying Brazilian ethanol price relationships in light of institutional changes, such as Petrobras’ pricing policy, which aligns domestic prices with international reference prices. Several studies, including those by David et al ( 2020 ), Hallack et al ( 2020 ), Nascimento Filho et al ( 2021 ), Quintino et al ( 2022 ), and Palazzi et al ( 2022 ), have investigated the impact of this policy on fuel prices. Additionally, Dutta and Bouri ( 2019 ) and Quintino et al ( 2021a ) have contributed to the understanding of price relationships of carbon emission prices in the context of the Brazilian sugarcane and ethanol sector.…”

“…The use of computational modeling plays a highly significant role in the development, optimization, and enhancement of renewable energy systems at various generation scales NASCIMENTO FILHO at al, 2018;MURARI at al, 2020;SILVA at al, 2021). The process of capturing energy from solar radiation has evolved significantly through the application of various optimization techniques, which can enhance the efficiency and reliability of solar energy installations, thereby contributing to a more sustainable future (NASCIMENTO FILHO at al, 2017;NASCIMENTO FILHO at al, 2022;DE OLIVEIRA at al, 2023). Furthermore, with the increasing proliferation of artificial intelligence techniques, it is anticipated that the optimization process will be further maximized.…”
