The development of modern logistics systems requires state-of-the-art solutions for simultaneously achieving sustainable development goals and ambitious business targets. On this issue, the challenge of implementing digital technologies in social life, in particular in smart cities, deserves special attention. The diversified application of Industry 4.0 doctrine and digital shadow penetration to all fields of socioeconomic systems highlights the gaps in the design, control, and efficiency assessment of digital tools in the logistics of smart cities. Another challenge concerns the need to consider environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles amid the deployment of harmonic digital tools within urban territories. All these issues require a complex methodological approach toward understanding the role of IT in the modern economy through an ESG prism. The article contains a contemporary literature review on the related topic and the conceptual framework of city logistics digitalization under ESG perspectives and constraints. The mathematical model proposed by the researchers enables a multidimensional design of digital solution applications within smart city logistics performance. The designed discrete stochastic model is eligible for scaling toward and the further development of variables other than the key ones mentioned above. The mathematical formalization of the proposed model considers the distribution of the limited budgeting of administrative branches within city logistics, highlighting the research relevance in connection with the ESG principles.

The aim of the article is to present key mechanisms for shaping the safety culture of high reliability organizations through digital transformation, which is now a key challenge for the entire global economy. It is particularly important in processes conducted by so-called high reliability organizations. From this cognitive perspective, it is important to define the place and role of digital transformation in shaping the safety culture of high reliability organizations. The comparison of the issues of the safety culture and digital transformation of high reliability organizations seems to be an important cognitive aspect resulting from technological progress in the area of the digital economy. The socio-technological system in which high reliability organizations exist is organized in such a way that all technical, operational and organizational aspects, including the participation of many entities involved in the operation of this complex system, are coherent. This coherence can be influenced by the digital transformation solutions that are implemented and used. The article used the analytic hierarchy process (AHP) and Vester methods, which were used for research by railway undertakings operating on the Polish railway market, to solve the scientific problem. A ranking of specific issues responsible for building safety culture and the identification of factors that are important for the effectiveness of the process of shaping the expected safety culture was created.

Temperature control for fermentation is crucial as it directly affects microorganism growth, productivity, and metabolic activity. This work proposes a modified fractional order proportional‐integral‐derivative (FOPID‐DF) controller that incorporates the system model in the control loop configuration utilizing a differential filter for precise temperature control within a narrow operating range. PID, fractional order PID (FOPID), modified fractional order PID (MFOPID), and fractional order internal model control (IMC) controllers were also designed for comparative analysis. The simulation results demonstrated that the proposed FOPID‐DF controller outperforms the other designed controllers, shown by a 22.33% reduction in integral absolute error (IAE) and a 29.06% decrease in integral square error (ISE) compared to the FOPID controller and various other improved performance indicators. Parameter variation and noise analysis highlighted the ability of the controller to maintain stability and performance under changing conditions. The simulation outcomes suggested that the FOPID‐DF controller excels in temperature control, ensuring optimal microorganism growth and metabolic activity.
