Industry Chain and Technology Trends in China’s Solid-state Battery Industry

Abstract: Solid-state battery is different from traditional lithium-ion battery, which is a kind of battery using solid electrode and solid electrolyte, and it has the advantages of high safety, long life, high charging and discharging efficiency, good high temperature resistance, simple assembly and processing, and easy to scale up. This paper first analyzes the industrial chain of solid-state batteries in China and the stakeholders in the process of industrial development, and finally draws a technology roadmap for th… Show more

“…In spite of the wider application of nonaqueous electrolyte batteries, the physicochemical hindrances such as leakage and flammability impede the effective growth and application in a long run. Urging the paramount goals of higher energy storage capacity, power uptake capacity, reliability, and safety for commercialization, including in extreme environments, solid‐state batteries (SSBs), are lately receiving soaring research attention in industries and research communities 12,13 . SSBs are governed by the physical state of the electrolyte that is either crystalline or amorphous solids.…”

“…Urging the paramount goals of higher energy storage capacity, power uptake capacity, reliability, and safety for commercialization, including in extreme environments, solid-state batteries (SSBs), are lately receiving soaring research attention in industries and research communities. 12,13 SSBs are governed by the physical state of the electrolyte that is either crystalline or amorphous solids. As presented in Figure 1, they are broadly classified into inorganic (ceramic) and organic (polymer) electrolytes and their composites.…”
