Inelastic electric and magnetic electron scattering form factors of 24Mg nucleus: Role of g factors

Abstract: The electric and magnetic transitions in the [Formula: see text]Mg nucleus are studied based on the calculations of the longitudinal and the transverse electron scattering form factors. The universal sd-shell model Hamiltonian (USDA) is used for calculations. The wave functions of radial single-particle matrix elements are calculated using the Skyrme potential. For the longitudinal form factors, a good agreement is obtained between the calculations and the experimental data. For the transverse form factors, th… Show more

“…We have change the value for and keep the default value in the a harmonic oscillator potential. The best agreement with experimental results has been found, if we used = 1.76 fm and the new effective charges, 1.36 for protons and 0.45 for neutrons [14,30].…”

“…As shown in Fig. 4, B, the matching between theoretical and experimental results has found by using oscillator length parameter = 1.62 fm, and effective nucleon factors as = 5.05, = −3.0, = 1, = 0 [18,30], whereas the magnetic form factors depend on the nucleon factors.…”

“…RAHIM, 2020 many features of nuclear energy levels. The importance of the nuclear shell model lies in its ability to give a true accurate approximation of the energy levels of nucleons with different values of angular momentum [2,3]. The shell model had been modified significantly to involve large neutron systems, which is very necessary in the field of astronomy and has many applications in the study of the great explosions called supernova and other fields [4].…”
