Quality and reliability are essential for future-proof products. Quality and Reliability Engineering International (QREI) has progressively evolved as one of the premier international outlets publishing on practical aspects of quality and reliability engineering. This is demonstrated by its publications, reaching 2978 articles (till search date) frequently cited in journals of international repute. QREI's citations in Scopus reached 39,399 on the search date, and its h-index is 67. Our research aims to compile a bibliometric overview of QREI research articles with a focus on a novel analysis from the perspective of sustainable development. Using Excel, R, VOSviewer, and Gephi software, we analyzed the QREI's bibliographic records in Scopus and presented an overview of its 37 years between 1985 and 2022. Among all the publications, "Multivariate statistical process control charts: An Overview" has received the highest citation (TC: 445). The United States dominates with 858 publications, while Beihang University features as its top-citing institution (TC: 370). Muhammad Riaz of "King Fahd University of Petroleum and Minerals, Dhahran, Saudi Arabia" is the most prolific QREI author with 77 publications. Two hundred fifty-six articles are synchronous with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The top three SDGs are SDG9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure), SDG7 (Affordable and Clean Energy), and SDG3 (Good Health and Well-being). Further, the worldwide collaboration patterns and most prominent and influential topics of QREI have also been analyzed to discover the scholarly base of QREI publications. As far as we know, this is the first comprehensive and objective analysis of QREI applying scientometric methods including the SDG mappings.

In recent years, various forms of progressive hybrid censoring schemes (PHCS) have gained significant traction in survival and reliability analysis studies due to their versatility. However, these PHCS variants are often characterized by complexity stemming from the multitude of parameters involved in their specification. Consequently, the primary objective of this paper is to propose a unified approach termed combined type II progressive hybrid censoring scheme (ComT2PHCS) capable of encompassing several existing PHCS variations. Our analysis focuses specifically on the exponential distribution (ExDist). Bayesian inference techniques are employed to estimate the parameters of the ExDist under the ComT2PHCS. Additionally, we conduct fundamental distributional analyses and likelihood inference procedures. We derive the conditional moment-generating function (CondMGF) of maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) for parameters of the ExDist under ComT2PHCS. Further, we use CondMGF for the distribution of MLE for parameters of ExDist under ComT2PHCS. Finally, we provide an illustrative example to elucidate the inference methods derived in this paper.

For the first time, this paper offers the Bayesian and E‐Bayesian estimation methods using the spacing function (SF) instead of the classical likelihood function. The inverse Lindley distribution, including its parameter and reliability measures, is discussed in this study through the mentioned methods, along with some other classical approaches. Six‐point and six‐interval estimations based on an adaptive Type‐I progressively censored sample are considered. The likelihood and product of spacing methods are used in classical inferential setups. The approximate confidence intervals are discussed using both classical approaches. For various parameters, the Bayesian methodology is studied by taking both likelihood and SFs as observed data sources to derive the posterior distributions. Moreover, the E‐Bayesian estimation method is considered by using the same data sources in the usual Bayesian approach. The Bayes and E‐Bayes credible intervals using both likelihood and SFs are also taken into consideration. Several Monte Carlo experiments are carried out to assess the performance of the acquired estimators, depending on different accuracy criteria and experimental scenarios. Finally, two data sets from the engineering and physics sectors are analyzed to demonstrate the superiority and practicality of the suggested approaches.
