Infiltrate Object Extraction in X-ray Image by Using Math-Morphology Method and Feature Region Analysis

Abstract: Abstract-Infiltrate is often called as pulmonary vlek for there are white spotteds on the lung. White spotted could be in form of liquid, condensation, or uncircumcised. The liquid is emerge from blood or suppuration. To detect the existence of infiltrate on the lung, it could be done by doing X-ray Thorax checkup. To observe the infiltrate on x-ray thorax image is unable to be seen by every people, but it is done by experts such as radiologists or the pulmonary experts by doing conscientious research. The res… Show more

“…X-ray imaging modalities are the most widely used by dentists to examine teeth, jaw, and maxillofacial structures [4], but these modalities cannot serve adequate information about oral and maxillofacial soft tissue. To overcome the limitation, previous studies had also developed digital image processing such as image enhancement [5] and edge detection [6] for X-ray images to assist dental and medical practitioners in identifying disease and abnormalities in hard tissue and soft tissue.…”

“…Feature extraction method is very important in detecting forgery. Feature extraction aims to compute the specific representation of the data that can highlight relevant information [1]. Besides, it is a useful tool for removing irrelevant or redundant information and reducing feature dimensionality [16].…”

“…Compared to word, image can explain any situation in much better form as it enables us to understand vividly. Nowadays, images had been the convenient way to express and transmit information in the field of medical imaging [1], law enforcement and forensic investigation. However, the availability of various powerful computer applications such as Adobe Photoshop, GNU Image Manipulation Program (GIMP) and Paint.NET, cause the authenticity of an image to be questioned as forgery over an image can be performed easily and frequently but very difficult to identify.…”

“…Because the teeth are assembled in one group, then the cropping process required two coordinate points. The first coordinate point determines the upper left position (the position of the patient's right or [R] ight) and the second one determines lower right position of the cropped area (left position patients) [23,24]. The cropping process results can be seen in The result of cropping process on input image in Figure 3 can be seen in Figure 5.…”
