Infinite Coordination Polymer Nanoparticles Used for Fluorescence Turn-On Sensing of Ascorbic Acid

Abstract: In this work, a “turn-on” fluorescence assay with sequential recognition based on infinite coordination polymer (ICP) nanoparticles is developed for the highly selective analysis of ascorbic acid (AA). The ICP nanoparticles are easily prepared by self-assembly of reactive Ce4+, fluorescent Tb3+, and the bridging ligand adenosine monophosphate (AMP), which are denoted as AMP-Ce(IV)/Tb ICP nanoparticles. The weak fluorescence of the AMP-Ce(IV)/Tb ICP nanoparticles can be selectively switched on by AA via two s… Show more

“…These polymer dots can be easily coupled with small organic molecules or biomolecules to tune the energy transfer process to be applied for target-specific detection in complex biological matrices. Nowadays, Pdots have emerged as flexible probes for the detection of numerous biomolecules such as ascorbic acid, quercetin, glutathione, intracellular pH, and alkaline phosphatase, etc., [259][260][261][262][263][264][265][266][267][268][269] via the chromogenic and/or fluorogenic strategy through tunable IFE, FRET, PET, static and dynamic quenching mechanism (Table 6).…”

“…Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) as a zinc-containing dimeric enzyme has the specific ability to remove phosphate groups from a variety of phosphorylated substrates, such as nucleic acids, proteins, and other phosphate-group-containing molecules (such as ascorbic acid 2-phosphate, AA2P) [ 1 , 2 , 3 ]. ALP is widely distributed in various tissues of living organisms.…”

“…Ascorbic acid (AA), which is also called vitamin C, has various essential roles in human biological systems. 1 AA is required for several metabolic processes of the body like protein and adrenaline preparation and iron absorption. 2 Since the human body can't produce AA, it is taken from the outer sources through different foods and medicines.…”
