Influence of Glycolyzed Polyurethane on Emulsions Containing Vegetable Oils for Metal Cutting Fluid Application: Effect of Hydrophilic Chain

Abstract: In order to produce environmentally friendly and efficient metal working fluids and also to reduce the impact of waste polyurethane polymer in the environment, polyurethane polymers were recycled in novel process. Waste polyurethane foam was glycolyzed using polyethylene glycol 400-600-1500-4000-6000 to give the glycolyzed products (GPU). GPU was esterified by oleic acid to obtain GPUO.
