Influence of Hall Current and Thermal Radiation on MHD Convective Heat and Mass Transfer in a Rotating Porous Channel with Chemical Reaction

Abstract: A theoretical study is carried out to obtain an analytic solution of heat and mass transfer in a vertical porous channel with rotation and Hall current. A constant suction and injection is applied to the two insulating porous plates. A strong magnetic field is applied in the transverse direction. The entire system rotates with uniform angular velocity Ω about the axis normal to the plates. The governing equations are solved by perturbation technique to obtain the analytical results for velocity, temperature, a… Show more

“…Chaudhary and Jain 25 studied the Hall effect on MHD mixed convection flow of a viscoelastic fluid past an infinite vertical porous plate with mass transfer and radiation effects. Dulal et al 26 investigated the influence of Hall current and chemical reaction on unsteady MHD heat and mass transfer of oscillatory convective flow in a rotating vertical porous channel with thermal radiation. The effects of Hall current and radiation on MHD micropolar fluid in a rotating system were analyzed by Narayana et al 27 Seth et al 28 presented the effects of Hall current and rotation on unsteady MHD natural convection flow with heat and mass transfer past an impulsively moving vertical plate in the presence of radiation and chemical reaction.…”

“…The basic concept behind MHD is that magnetic fields can add currents in a conductive fluid, which polarizes the fluid and changes the magnetic field itself. Pal and Talukdar (2013) examined the influence of thermal radiation and Hall current on MHD convective flow through a porous medium in the presence of chemical reaction. Gupta (1975) has investigated the flow of a conducting fluid past a flat plate in the presence of Hall effects.…”

“…28 Attia 29 worked on the incompressible laminar viscous fluid flow past an infinite rotating disc in porous medium. Induced hydrodynamic/hydromagnetic flow for uniform suction/injection through rotating disc immersed in porous medium was investigated by Pal and Talukdar, 30 Rashidi et al, 31 Gaber and Mohamed 32 and Bachok et al 33 MHD fluid flow characteristics over various geometries have been widely examined due to various engineering and industrial applications. Narayana and Babu 34 developed a model for Jeffrey fluid over a stretching sheet.…”
