Abstract:The approach to modeling the stress‐strain state during creep damage processes in long beams, which receives an impact loading on their surface, is presented. Both problems are solved by use of the finite element method (FEM). Stress distributions obtained in impact solution are further used as additional initial conditions in the analysis of the effect of impact loading on creep. The creep and damage accumulation in beams with isotropic and transversally isotropic creep properties were analyzed. The essential… Show more

scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
