Influence of material characteristics on impact response for fabrics made of glass and aramid fibers

Abstract: This paper presents a meso-level FE model of unidirectional yarns in order to point out the difference in impact response for two materials: glass and aramid fibers. The architecture is kept the same, successive layers of yarns, oriented 0° and 90°. The constitutive model for each yarn material is bilinear with hardening, as taken from recent documentation.
