Influence of mixture composition on fresh concrete workability for ballastless track slabs

Abstract: There are several factors that affect the fresh concrete workability: water demand and composition of Portland cement, properties of fine and coarse aggregates, presence of superplasticizer and others admixtures, etc. Influence of quantity and fineness of ground quartz additives as well as polycarboxylate-based superplasticizer amount on workability of fresh concrete was studied in the paper. The properties of fresh mixture (slump) and hardened concrete (compressive strength at the age of 24 hours, 28 and 360 … Show more

“…Track concrete, as the main load-bearing structural material, is also widely used in track traffic [1][2][3][4][5][6]. By virtue of its supporting, waterproof, anti-corrosion and other functions, it is widely used in structures such as shield segments, secondary lining of tunnels and main body of stations [7][8][9][10][11]. Concrete used in track traffic construction is often divided into two types, one is structural durability C40 concrete for ballast pouring, and the other is C30 ordinary concrete for transition section laying [12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19].…”
