Influence of process parameters on properties of Nanostructured Lipid Carriers (NLC) formulation.

Abstract: Nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC) are stable colloidal formulations with notable advantages for drug delivery systems. Thanks to their physicochemical stability, biocompatibility, biodegradability and controlled drug release, they have received increasing attention for the last several years. The aim of the study was to prepare and characterize nanostructured lipid carriers (NLC). Both, the effect of the process parameters and the effect of the preemulsion composition on the NLC properties were investigated.… Show more

“…High ZP (negative or positive) indicates stable nanoparticle dispersion as highly charged particles are accountable for avoidance of particles aggregation due to electric repulsion [17]. Finding of TEM analysis revealed that the diameters of the optimized batch of nanoparticles were in excellent agreement with the data gathered from Malvern particle size analyzer.…”

“…Physicochemical properties of the PLGA NPs depend on their charge and play critical role in the interaction of NPs with cells, especially for cellular uptake (Yameen et al, ). Generally, NPs are reported to be stable when the absolute value of the zeta potential is more than 30 mV (Lasoń, Sikora, & Ogonowski, ); consequently, it can be deduced that PLGA NPs prepared will remain in a stable colloidal condition. Various factors including formulation, type of surfactant and polymers, and their concentration can influence the zeta potential.…”

“…Response surface methodology based Box Behnken design (BBD) was used for the construction of polynomial orders which is a collaboration of various statistical techniques and is useful for the mathematical problems where confounding of the factors exists. To checks the effect of independent factors on dependent factors we had performed Box Behnken analysis 20,27,28 A 3 factor, 3 level (3 3 ) BBD with 16 no. of experimental runs was constructed when 3 independent variables were studied at different levels (+1 higher level; -1 lower level) and center points during analysis.…”
