Abstract:The synthesis of arrays of aligned multi-wall carbon nanotubes (CNTs) by thermal chemical vapor deposition is addressed in this study. Deposition experiments are carried out in a hot-wall reactor from mixtures of acetylene and helium, using iron coated silicon wafers as substrates. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) is employed to discuss the growth mechanisms and the interaction between the substrate and the aligned CNTs film. Methods for improved substrate-CNTs film interaction are proposed, aiming at fabric… Show more
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
