Information System for Culinary Product Selection Using Clustering K-Means and Weighted Product Method

Abstract: Typical foods are foods that have characteristics that cannot be found in other areas. The number of restaurants that sell typical food made consumers confused in choosing where to buy foods. This study aims to build information systems to provide culinary product recommendations based on the criteria desired by consumers. The clustering process used the k-means method used to classify the categories of food desired by consumers into six categories: appetizers, soups, desserts, snacks and drinks. In addition t… Show more

“…The Weighted Product method consists of three calculation steps, including (1) improving the weight of the criteria, (2) determining the S-vector, and (3) determining the V-vector. The formula used to improve the weight of the criteria can be seen in Equation 1 [21,22], the formula for determining the S-vector can be seen in Equation 2 [23,24], and the formula for determining the V-vector can be seen in Equation 3 [25,26].…”

“…Options are not only in terms of price. Several factors determine consumer choices, including the menu of the number of conditions, the average price, and the facilities consumers will get from a restaurant [2]. Therefore we need a decision support system that is used to make decisions in the selection of culinary locations.…”
