Inhalant anaesthetics

Abstract: Inhalant anaesthetics are commonly used in veterinary medicine; a basic review of their physicochemical properties and pharmacokinetics and pharmacodynamics parameters is carried out in this article. Particular attention is paid to factors that may affect induction and recovery from anaesthesia, and to the drug side-effects, focused on the requirements of the general practitioner. Finally, there is be a brief discussion about occupational exposure and environmental contamination.
