Inline NMR via a Dedicated V-Shaped Sensor

Abstract: Process monitoring and control require dedicated and reliable measures which reflect the status of the process under investigation. Although nuclear magnetic resonanceis known to be a versatile analytical technique, it is only seldomly found in process monitoring. Single-sided nuclear magnetic resonance is one well known approach for being applied in process monitoring. The dedicated V-sensor is a recent approach that allows the inline investigation of materials in a pipe non-destructively and non-invasively. … Show more

“…The application of the V-sensor in this paper is focused on the quality control of graphite anode slurries in battery production. In addition to the sensitivities described in [19], the sensor measurements enable (a) the determination of the solids content in the sample, which is an important quality parameter in battery production, (b) the sample's chemical composition, deduced from transverse relaxation (solids vs. liquids) and (c) the A is on a plateau for v mean < 1.0 cm/s. The "break" point appears at lower v mean because of the larger dilution of Gadovist.…”

“…The use of a dedicated surface coil is necessary for this functionality. The first measurements showed the usability of the sensor in water-based anode slurries for battery production [19]. To show the suitability of flow measurements of anode slurries, an extruded waterbased graphite slurry with a solid content of 45%w/w (96%w/w graphite, 1%w/w carbon black (CB), 2%w/w carboxymethylcellulose (CMC), 1%w/w styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR)) was used and subsequently diluted to achieve the desired concentrations.…”

“…7). 55 The K ads values calculated for the PANI layer show its highest affinity for 2-AI ( primary amine) and revealed an inability to discriminate between the two tertiary amines. Unlike PANI, the o-3ABA layer was able to distinguish between all tested NPSs, exhibiting the highest affinity for butylone (secondary amine).…”

“…Recently, this phenomenon has been noted in the development of impedimetric biosensors. 55,57,58 The observed decrease in EIS signal has been assigned to less blocking of the flow of electrons through the electrode surface, and has been named as "competitive inhibition assay". 59 A welldefined lower frequency 'tail' is present with butylone, pointing to a better diffusion of butylone toward the electrode surface.…”
