Inner Lumen Tracheostomy Tube Capable of Continuous Monitoring of Cuff Pressure

Abstract: Tracheostomy is one of the most important airway management procedures in patients with respiratory problems. This procedure might be the only option for patients with airway and respiratory problems, who are not able to have an appropriate ventilation and oxygenation. For this purpose, tracheostomy tubes are used with different applications. One of these types of tubes is the cuffed tracheostomy tube, used for fixation, positive pressure ventilation and aspiration prevention. Nevertheless, there are two commo… Show more

“…It is designed to be used with the AnapnoGuard ET tube. This tube helps to address known problems of cuff pressure monitoring and secretion management to avoid complications from tracheostomy tubes 40 . While limited in its portability, the device helps maintain appropriate cuff pressures in patients requiring mechanical ventilation.…”

“…This tube helps to address known problems of cuff pressure monitoring and secretion management to avoid complications from tracheostomy tubes. 40 While limited in its portability, the device helps maintain appropriate cuff pressures in patients requiring mechanical ventilation. This has the potential to decrease rates of subglottic and tracheal stenosis and aspiration if pressures are set appropriately below 30 cmH 2 O.…”
