Abstract:Enzyme Models A dinuclear structural model of the [NiFeSe] hydrogenase active site has been synthesized, which mimics the key active site features including a selenolate ligand terminally bound to a nickel center. The structural, electronic and electrochemical properties of the complex have been analyzed and compared with its thiolate donor ligand containing analogue in order to determine the effect of the introduction of selenium into the complex.
