Insights in light trapping for new generation silicon solar cell: optical characterization of plasmonic nanostructures beside anti-reflection layer

Abstract: Designing light-trapping is one of the requirements for new generation silicon solar cells. Herein, the optical properties of front-based plasmonic nanoparticles besides the anti-re ection layer on newgeneration silicon cells were investigated by the 3D-FDTD method and were compared with some experimental kinds of literature. In addition to a perfectly periodic structure, the almost periodic structure (closer to the experimental sample) was also modeled. Along with the conventional far and near-eld effect, the… Show more

“…In addition to their interesting fundamental properties, these NPs have can have different technological applications (Kishore et al 2023). They are likely to give rise to a new generation of electronic (Samadi et al 2022), optoelectronic (Hassan et al 2023) and biological devices (Baretta et al 2023), with a major impact on diverse sectors including lighting (Sarker and Ahn 2023), sensors (Ouni et al 2023a), lasers (Jiang et al 2022), photovoltaics (Wang et al 2023), biomarkers (Jang et al 2023) and medical imaging (Chen et al 2023). An intensive research has performed on the study and development of group II-VI binary NPs, in particular, those containing cadmium (e.g., CdSe, CdS, CdTe) (Kandasamy et al 2023; Gan et al 2023;Liu et al 2023).…”
