Insights into Ionic Liquids for Flame Retardant: A Study Based on Bibliometric Mapping

Abstract: Fire is a typical disaster in the processing industry. Ionic liquids, as a type of green flame retardant, play an important role in process safety. In order to grasp the current research status, hotspots, and frontiers in the field of ionic liquids in flame retardancy, the bibliometric mapping method is applied to study the relevant literature in Web of Science datasets from 2000–2022 in this paper. The results show that the research on ionic liquids in flame retardancy is multidisciplinary and involves some d… Show more

“…If two or more papers were cited simultaneously by one or more later articles, it is regarded as a cocitation relationship. These cocited literature forms the knowledge base of the research field, while the journals carrying the cocited documents were the carriers of the knowledge base . Thus, we can get the high cocitation literature, analyze which literature is more closely linked, and speculate the knowledge base in ionic liquid corrosion inhibition.…”

“…These cocited literature forms the knowledge base of the research field, while the journals carrying the cocited documents were the carriers of the knowledge base. 44 Thus, we can get the high cocitation literature, analyze which literature is more closely linked, and speculate the knowledge base in ionic liquid corrosion inhibition. In this section, we conducted a literature cocitation mapping using Gephi software, as shown in Figure 6.…”

“…Non-flammable alternatives, such as deep eutectic solvents and ionic liquid-based electrolytes, have been explored to mitigate this hazard. However, polymer electrolytes, while non-flammable, often suffer from deformation and breakage during the charge-discharge process, leading to interface contact issues [154][155][156]. Addressing this challenge, self-healing electrolytes have emerged as a promising solution, capable of inhibiting such problems and improving electrochemical performance while reducing degradation.…”

“…They mostly exhibit green and friendly properties such as high stability, low volatility, and recyclability. , Therefore, the research on ionic liquids has been welcomed by more and more scholars. They are widely used in the electrochemical, flame retardant, and corrosion inhibition fields. As a new solvent, ionic liquid shows excellent potential in extraction and catalysis, and the introduction of ionic liquid into oil desulfurization is expected to solve the deep desulfurization and environmental protection problems.…”

“…11,12 Therefore, the research on ionic liquids has been welcomed by more and more scholars. They are widely used in the electrochemical, 13 flame retardant, 14 and corrosion inhibition 15 different desulfurization effects by selecting appropriate solvents. Oxidative desulfurization occurs when the sulfur compounds are oxidized into sulfone compounds by an oxidizing agent, with the help of extraction to achieve desulfurization.…”
